I work as a project manager. I'm a parent and an expat living in Ottawa, Canada.
How It Commenced
Moving to Canada wasn't in the master plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than intended.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created CoveOrchardLane
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was honest, everyday family insight.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Canada.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
